Horrifying really
Looking through the notes, and people seem to be justifying this as evolutionary biology. They believe that human females are most fertile at the age of 15. Considering your body isn’t even done growing at this age, I find this incredibly hard to believe. Really? The best time for you to push a baby out of your vagina is when your periods probably aren’t even regular yet? Like the younger you are, the more likely you are to DIE from child birth. Well anyway, most websites claim you’re most fertile in your 20s, peaking at 27… So congrats on trying to blatantly justify pedophilia by using bullshit science.
I was hoping I’d get an ask like this so I had an excuse to go all out like this! Artfight is an annual art event that surrounds giving and getting art for a whole month!
once you make an account you can upload all your ocs and their information on your own page! This should include stuff like references and small bits of character info (enough for someone to draw them accurately). You need to have at least one OC uploaded to participate so people can draw art for you during Artfight (although i would say upload about 3 so people have choice.)
All people who sign up for Artfight that year get separated into two teams once the event begins (I’m using red and blue as an example but they are usually stuff like sun vs moon, technology vs nature, coffee vs tea etc)
Once that happens people can make art of your OCs in exchange for points for their team! Yep! You get free art of your OCs!
But that means your team is now down a good few points so its not without consequence.
By drawing an OC that belongs to the opposite team for more points than the piece you were given your team is able to stay on top of the game and you also put some good out in the world in the process.
if you draw something for the person of the opposite team and they attack back you can get extra points for your team by starting a “revenge chain” its one of the best ways to get a point multiplier going and to start a friendship with someone who has cool characters!
So what happens when your team wins?
Your team all get a nifty little digital trophy, all the art development that comes with drawing competitively, the knowledge that you’ve put a lot of good and happiness into the world by drawing peoples ocs, and complete ownership of bragging rights! (I personally developed my art style a whole lot during artfight last year! it was super fun!)
So what about when your team looses?
Well the reason why the other team won is because they gave your team the most art of your teams characters! So statistically you just got a whole bunch more free art than they did! Even if you don’t get all the celebration and bragging rights you now have so much more amazing art of your characters!

It’s an amazing event that challenges you in a great way and you get to be introduced to a lot of really amazing artists and make alliances with people on your team! This is your Decidedly Unfriendly Reminder that if you live in the US, unless you’re on private land or a public area that EXPLICITLY says it’s ok to have your dog off-leash (i.e. A Dog Park) KEEP YOUR FUCKING DOG ON LEASH.
Reasons:
Not everyone wants to pet your dog, esp if they’re prone to jumping. people carrying small babies or the elderly, for instance.
when your dog is off-leash it’s harder to notice if they eat something toxic, get too close to traffic or bitten by another animal. Your dog is WAY safer on-leash.
The local wildlife is much safe too- most dogs WERE bred to hunt, and will glady chase after dangerous and/or rabid wildlife.
Just becuase YOUR dog is “Friendly” doesn’t mean the other dog is! Some dogs are scared, poorly socialized or just plain don’t like other dogs!
You are also probably vastly oversetimating how “friendly” your dog actually is-running up and tackling another dog might be your trying to play, but most other dogs will take it as aggressiveness and respond as such.
Also when your dog books it across a field in spite of you yelling she’s NOT ‘under verbal control’.
Accidents happen and dogs get lose/yank the leash out of your hand, but if your dog hurts someone or another dog STICK AROUND AND MAKE SURE THEY’RE OK, OR GET THEM HELP.
Yours truly, The person who’s in the ER with another broken thumb because a “Totally Friendly!” labradoodle decided to run across a field and bite Charlie, and my hand got caught in the resulting dogfight. (Charlie’s upset but the Vet looked him over and it only looks like he lost some fur. Labradoodle looked ok but was carted off into a minivan before I could get so much as a ‘sorry’ from the owner. Did get the plates though.)
Update: Out of the ER, have a brace and they glued the wound shut. I have medicaid and pet insurance so I’m not out any money from this, but I gave her plates to the cop at the hospital and they’ll send someone to have a talk with her about leash laws here.
Charlie is currently playing fetch indoors after he’d been begging for cheetos.
This is very important and very serious. I own a dog-aggressive dog. She was socialized from an early age, but as our vet said, some dogs just plain don’t like other dogs!
My dog can’t go on walks anymore. All the parks here are populated by people who walk their dogs off-leash despite numerous signs reminding that it’s illegal. I can’t tell you how many times an off-leash dog has approached my leashed dog, who is clearly displaying aggressive and antisocial behavior, and tried to play, resulting in me having to break up or prevent a dogfight.
Actually, I can tell you! It’s happened exactly three times. Only three times because I stopped taking my dog on walks.
“But Cat, if your dog is so aggressive, maybe you shouldn’t take it on walks in the first place!” Interesting point. No. My dog is very well trained and will ignore other dogs unless they approach her off-leash. It’s the power imbalance created by her being leashed and the other dog being unrestricted that sets her off.
My dog doesn’t get to enjoy being anywhere but my own property because of people that disregard the law. I can’t walk her outside the parks because nowhere near me am I comfortable walking her, the sidewalks are too narrow and close to cars.
I have also seen a dog actually run in front of its owners and cross a street alone to get to my dog. A busy street. The owners weren’t happy, but I honestly don’t have sympathy for them. If your dog gets run over like that, it’s your own damn fault. Sorry.
I was actually once attacked by an unleashed dog on a walk. People use to walk their dogs through my old neighborhood off leash all the time even though it was against the laws. There was even a sign up because of numerous incidents with a dog off leash. I was a child and IN MY OWN YARD when this ‘friendly’ dog came charging at me and attempted to bite and scratch me. I wasn’t seriously injured, just got a couple scars here and there, but this event scared me shitless. The owner actually yelled at me for being ‘rough’ with the dog when i had managed to finally get it off me, “He was just playing with ya!” DUDE HE BIT ME. This dog was probably the most aggressive dog in the neighborhood. It was known for jumping at people, growling at them, and even biting them. My family never pressed charges, but when my dad returned home from his business trip he did have a stern conversation with that neighbor about their dog. Ever since then I have been terrified of dogs and can barely be in the same room as them. .
Listen, your dog may be friendly to you, but to other people and other dogs, it may not be! Please leash your dogs!
